Trump Issues Stark Warning as Hormuz Deadline Looms
World news. 7/4/2026
Good day. It's Tuesday, April 7th, 2026.
I'm Alice Beth, and this is your latest NEWS UPDATE from GLOBAL
News Daily. U.S.
President Donald Trump has issued one of his starkest
warnings yet, saying a whole civilization will die tonight
unless Iran agrees to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
However, he also struck a more hopeful tone, suggesting that
something revolutionary wonderful can happen before his
deadline of 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday.
As the clock ticks down, U.S. military operations are
continuing. American forces have carried out
new strikes on Karg Island, Iran's primary oil export hub
and a key pillar of its economy. Meanwhile, speaking in Budapest,
Vice President JD Vance said the United States has additional
options it has not yet used, but added that its core military
objectives in Iran have fundamentally been achieved.
On the ground, violence continues.
Iranian state media report that two people were killed in a
strike on a bridge in Kashian, just hours after Israel warned
civilians to avoid train travel for their safety.
At the same time, Israel says Iran has launched more missiles
toward its territory, while several Gulf nations report
fresh strikes and interceptions overnight, a sign that the
conflict is still spreading across the region.
