Trump Calls Iran War “Last, Best Chance”
World news. 2/3/2026
Good evening. It's Monday, March 2nd, 2026.
I'm Alice Beth and this is your latest NEWS UPDATE from Global
News Daily. President Donald Trump says he
made the decision to launch war against Iran because it was what
he called the last best chance to stop the countries regime.
Speaking at the White House for the first time since ordering
strikes, the president said U.S. forces are continuing to carry
out large scale combat operations across Iranian
territory. The remarks come as the conflict
expands across the region. Earlier, new Iranian strikes
were reported on a major gas plant in Qatar.
Qatar's Ministry of Defence later said it had shot down to
Iranian aircraft, 7 missiles and five drones during the attack.
The targeting of critical energy infrastructure raises concerns
about potential disruption to global gas supplies and
International Energy markets. Meanwhile, British Prime
Minister Keir Starmer said the UK's decision not to join the US
Israeli strikes was deliberate. He stated that his government
does not believe in regime change from the skies,
signalling a clear divergent in strategy between London and
Washington. In Kuwait, several US fighter
planes have crashed in what the US military describes as an
apparent friendly fire incident. No details have yet been
released about casualties, but the development underscores the
complexity and risks of operating in a crowded and fast
moving combat environment. For our deep dive and analysis,
