Iran Missile Hits Near Israeli Nuclear Site

Iran has struck the southern Israeli city of Dimona with a missile, injuring at least 47 people in one of the most sensitive attacks of the conflict so far. The apparent target was a nuclear facility located around 13 kilometres away, raising serious concerns about the potential risks to critical infrastructure. Nearby, the town of Arad was also hit. Israel's emergency service Magan David Adam confirmed that dozens of people have been taken to hospital following the strikes.

The attack comes after Iran reported another strike on its own Natan's nuclear facility. Tehran says there is no danger to surrounding communities, but the continued targeting of nuclear related sites on both sides marks a dangerous escalation. Meanwhile, Iran has denied responsibility for the reported missile attack on the joint UKUS base at Diego Garcia. A senior Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran was not behind the strike, which had raised concerns due to the base's strategic importance and its distance around 4000 kilometers from Iranian territory.
